SAN PABLO, CA FLAVOR BAN

Tonight, August 6th at 6PM the city council in San Pablo will be receiving a presentation from staff regarding a flavor ban policy. Staff is seeking direction and input in crafting the language further and will present 3 options; an all out city-wide ban, a ban with 600 feet from schools, daycare centers, public parks or playgrounds, and last but not least a ban that includes an exemption for “legal smoke shops” that derive more than 20% of their revenue from flavored tobacco products or devotes more than 20% of their floor space to flavored tobacco products. The city would delay enforcement by 6 months to work with retailers on implementation and provide some time to sell off inventory.

Staff has said they will be recommending option 1.
