Saratoga Flavor Ban

/Saratoga Flavor Ban

The Saratoga City Council voted unanimously last night to direct staff to prepare a flavor ban ordinance but left out menthol specifically. Contrary to other municipalities the council argued in favor of having a first violation result in an immediate 60-day suspension (double what it is now) and increase the look-back period from 12 to 24 months. Another interesting aspect of this case is that there was a discussion about the possibility of banning vapor DEVICES in the city. The city attorney noted that such a policy would require more additional research by staff. You can watch the short compilation video below.

There is currently no timeframe for when this ordinance will come back to the council as a draft.
