Marin County CA Flavor Ban

/Marin County CA Flavor Ban

On the same day we were able to deal with the flavor ban in Oakley, but earlier in the morning, the Marin County flavor ban hearing got postponed until a later date. A date that hasn’t been set yet. Watch this space because it won’t be going away but it will likely incorporate several exemptions or grandfathering clauses for existing businesses to continue doing business as usual.

The Marin County Board of Supervisors had failed to notify the affected businesses in the county and with the relatively short notice of the hearing date it certainly caused quite some waves and stakeholders dropping what they were doing in order to prepare to deal with this matter. Only to have the actual hearing postponed. But that is good news! Not Blowing Smoke’s founder and president, Stefan Didak, spent the day prior in Marin to help retailers craft messaging points and provide education on these flavor ban issues to ensure everyone would be going into this engagement armed to the teeth with in depth knowledge.

Work on Marin County will continue and please stay tuned for any new dates for a hearing.
